I agree in part with what you are saying. The internet has certainly given the power back to the people.
However, I feel that a new term needs to be coined to describe the “digital revolution”, rather than Communism.

Certainly, the internet, does “allow every member of society to participate in the decision-making process”. This is it’s power.

Unfortunately, human egos and personality rule out it ever being truly “…an egalitarian, classless, stateless, society based on common ownership”.

If the above were truly the case, we would no longer see information such as the number of followers in Twitter, number of friends in Facebook, or to take it to it’s extremes, no real reliance on statistics of web usage at all.

People need to have statuses to make themselves feel important and determine (rightly or wrongly) their standing within a community structure - be that online or offline.
